About the Unit
The Translational Health Research Unit under Prom Health Development (PHD) is committed to transforming scientific discoveries into real-world health solutions. Our work bridges the gap between research, clinical practice, and public health—strengthening Cambodia’s healthcare system through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based strategies.
5.1 Vision
To ensure equitable access to effective and innovative healthcare solutions that improve health outcomes and quality of life for all populations.
5.2 Mission
To translate scientific discoveries into impactful applications, enhance healthcare delivery, build research capacity, and establish long-term partnerships at local, national, and international levels.
5.3 Our Objectives
We focus on six core areas of public health innovation and research:
a. Translational Medicine: Advancing new treatments and medical technologies from lab to clinic.
b. Health Informatics & Data Science: Turning data into actionable insights for healthcare improvement.
c. Capacity Building: Providing education, mentorship, and research support—especially for medical, master’s, and PhD students developing research theses.
d. Disease Prevention & Control: Designing evidence-based strategies to reduce disease burden.
e. Infectious Disease Surveillance: Strengthening systems for early detection and response to outbreaks.
f. Global Health Collaboration: Working with partners across Southeast Asia and beyond on shared public health priorities.
